Marvel Studios’  Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is a 2021 American superhero film

ShangChi, based on Shang-Chi, is a Marvel Comics character. It is the twenty-fifth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (MCU). 

Destin Daniel Cretton directs the film, which is based on a story written by Cretton and Callaham as well as a screenplay written by Cretton, Dave Callaham, and Andrew Lanham. Along with Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, and Tony Leung, the film stars Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, and Tony Leung. Shang-Chi is forced to confront his past in the film after being lured into his father's Ten Rings organization.

Shang-Chi was adapted into a film for the first time in 2001, but Callaham was hired in December 2018 and production began in earnest. Cretton joined the project in March 2019, and it advanced swiftly as Marvel's first film starring an Asian actor. The title and key stars of the film were disclosed in July, confirming the film's connection to the Mandarin (Leung) and his Ten Rings organization, which has previously appeared in the MCU.

StoryLine

A man called Xu Wenwu discovers the ten rings, supernatural weapons that offer their possessor immortality and enormous power, a thousand years ago. Wenwu gathers the Ten Rings, a warrior force that conquers various countries and overthrows governments throughout history. In 1996, Wenwu decides to increase his authority by hunting for the town of Ta Lo, which is claimed to be home to a variety of mythological monsters. 

He discovers the village's entrance, but Ying Li, the village's protector, prevents him from entering. After falling in love, the two have two children, Xu Shang-Chi and Xu Xialing. Wenwu gives up the ten rings and his organization in order to spend more time with his family. However, Li is slain by the Ten Rings' old adversaries, the Iron Gang, and Wenwu reclaims the rings to slay them and resume his wicked operations. 

Shang-Chi is led to the Ten Rings facility to be taught various sorts of combat by the Death Dealer, a high-ranking member of the Ten Rings. At the age of 14, Shang-Chi is dispatched by Wenwu to assassinate the Iron Gang's leader. Shang-Chi abandons the Ten Rings after fulfilling his mission and goes to America, where he adopts the alias "Shaun."

Ten years later, Shang-Chi is living in San Francisco and working as a valet with his best friend, Katy Chen. While taking the Muni Metro to work one day, Shang-Chi and Katy are accosted by members of the Ten Rings commanded by Razor Fist. Despite his best attempts, Shang-Chi discovers that they have taken his mother's jewelry. Fearing that the Ten Rings may pursue Xialing for her pendant, Shang-Chi sets out to find her and tells Katy about his background, who agrees to help him. 

They eventually track her down to an underground fight club in Macau, where she owns it; Xialing expresses her rage at Shang-Chi for abandoning their family and their father for failing to care for her. Death Dealer leads an attack on the fight club with a unit of the Ten Rings.
